Downtown Sayville

This was done in my Stillman and Birns journal. It isn't watercolor paper, but can be used for light washes. I like the way it takes the ink. I've been wanting to paint this corner in Sayville for a while. It reminds me of small town America. This is about 4 x 6.

  1. I also love small town America. Gorgeous street clock and a lovely watercolor, Joan.

  2. I grew up in a small town too (reminds me of John Mellencamp's song!)... and the corner you painted looked very much like a familiar corner in my town :) It's amazing that although people/things are very different, they all are also very alike! Love your sketches.. you managed to get great depth and perspective! :)
