Pinks Again

 I'm about a week or so behind in my posting. The pink blossoms on the trees are now pretty much all gone, so I'm glad I captured this one.

Pink Tree at the Station

Like my friend, Tina Koyama, at this time of year I stop in my tracks for trees covered in pink blossoms. (I think she sketches many more of them than I do.) I was driving by the Oakdale Train Station and spotted this tree. I had to stop...#1 It was beautiful and #2 there was a parking space waiting for me. I found it hard to differentiate the color of the blossoms from the brickwork and am not sure if I succeeded.

Yellow Magnolia

Usually when we think of magnolia trees we visualize the pink and white blossoms. This year I found a few yellow magnolia trees. This one was in Bayport. They are pretty but I still think I prefer the pink ones. They look more delicate for some reason. Which do you prefer?

Spring Blossoms

The other day I decided to so a page of some of the beautiful blooms that are coming up right now. I used a grey page in my toned Stillman & Birn sketchbook doing just a small snippet of what I saw in various local places.
