I decided this had too many images to try and post them on my iPad, so I went straight to my laptop. I have some of my alcohol ink tiles at a gift shop/gallery called, "The Catbird Seat" in Sayville, the next town over from me. The owner suggested that I do some sea themed ones for the upcoming summer season. I will be taking these over to the shop before I leave on my trip next Tuesday. These were a bit harder to do than the flowers I've posted before because they need to pretty much resemble the creature I was aiming for. The flowers can be a bit more abstract. I like the way these came out. Do you have a favorite?
The seahorses are my favorite, although I also love the starfish! All very cheerful and summer beachy.

Thanks, Tina. I like the seahorses and the turtle best myself.
DeleteVoting for the seahorses too, but I like the blue on the shell. Think they will all be strong.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the vote of confidence, Nelvia.
DeleteI adore the turtle! They are all wonderful though and I think the gllery owner knows her market. These should fly out. What did you seal them with?
ReplyDeleteJulie, thanks so much. They are sealed with a pour-on resin called, Envirotex Lite. I tried spraying them with a sealer originally but it didn't make them waterproof or heat resistant. This is a pain to work with but works well.
DeleteI like them all but I favor the starfish and the sea turtle.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mel. The turtle was fun to do.
DeleteWow - difficult to do in alcohol inks but you did a great job Joan. I like the red seahorse and the shell best but they are all great and should do well at the gift shop.
