On Thursday we had a very rainy day so I went off to do some shopping and run errands. Even though they were predicting heavy rains at times, I headed over to Dick Blick which is about a 45 minute ride for me. What can I say...I had a 40% off coupon that was going to expire. Then I wanted to sketch something but the rain was still coming down. I had shopping to do at Trader Joe's and brought along my sketchbook, a pen, and my tiny palette. I asked permission to sketch and they just looked at me like I was crazy, but once I started the manager asked me not to put the store name on the sketch if I was going to sell it...so this is not for sale. LOL A nice lady posed with the sunflowers long enough for me to get her into the sketch too.
Wonderful sketch Joan! Trader Joes is the perfect place to sketch! However, they could've been nicer!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice Joan, wish I ad a 40% voucher, wouldn't know where to stop
ReplyDeleteHilda, thanks. He was nice but I don't think he understood that I was just sketching. lol I
ReplyDeleteLorraine, sadly the 40% off was on only one item. So I bought a pack of Arches paper...definitely worth the trip.
I love the sketch, great job on grabbing all the details under pressure from the store manager!
ReplyDeleteOh Joan I had to laugh when I read that the manager didn't want the store name on your sketch to be sold. He certainly missed an opportunity for some free advertising. Great sketch - has a happy feel. You made the most out of a rainy afternoon! Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteCelia, thanks. He only came over once to check what I was doing. Then he left me to sketch.
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I thought it was funny too. Mavis Tires found my sketch that I posted when I was waiting for tires one day and asked permission to share it in a corporate email. Thanks so much!
