I love this time of year when the forsythia blooms and looks like a riot of color everywhere. Of course I usually spot it on or along a parkway and can't stop to paint it. This painting was done of a caretaker's cottage at Spring Lake Golf Course in Middle Island.
Don't laugh but I actually sat on the service road of the Long Island Expressway to paint this one. Both were done in my Strathmore journal.
What a beautiful stone cottage! Oh to live in a quaint beauty like this is! It is my favorite, Joan. Both pieces are truly lovely!
ReplyDeleteSherry - Thank you...glad you like them.
ReplyDeleteI love the forsythia sketches! The first one especially captures the glorious yellow that you only see for a week or so every spring.
ReplyDeleteYou brave girl. Guess it was worth it for the lovely painting result!
ReplyDeleteAnother set of beauties, Joan..... BRAVA!
