Plein Air Painting at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens
Yesterday a group of local artists from our area headed to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens to see the cherry blossoms in bloom. The views were wonderful!!! At times it was overwhelming to see so many blossoms at once. I took some photos and we did have time to sit and paint. This was done in my moleskin journal and is 5 x 8.

Spring Forsythia
One of my favorite things to see at this time of year is the forsythia in bloom all over Long Isand. I just love seeing all the bright yellow as you drive along. I stopped and painted by this house in Patchogue last week. This is 4 x 6.

Lynn
My original blog http://watercolorsbyjoan.blogspot.com has been giving me problems. I have not been able to upload anything to it, so I have started a new blog. I hope all my friends will continue to visit.
This portrait was done at the Tuesday SBAA live model meeting. This is Lynn, a fellow artist, who agreed to pose for us because we didn't have a model. I think I captured her perfectly!!! I am really happy with the way it came out. This is 5 x 7.
