Savannah Part I

Our virtual destination for the NYC Urban Sketchers today was Savannah. Jerry and I had visited Savannah quite a while ago, but I do remember certain locations. Savannah is filled with beautiful squares and parks. I wanted to sketch one with a fountain I remembered seeing, so I Googled the squares and looked at the images until I found Forsyth Square. This striking white fountain with the water spraying out looks lovely from whatever direction you approach it. Forsyth Park fountain is one of Savannah's most well-known icons. It happens to be one of the most photographed places in Savannah and is quite often the location for proposals, engagement photo shoots and weddings. I does look so romantic!

  1. Glad you found the fountain you visited before and sketched it beautifully. I always admire how you do your water fountains!

    1. Thanks, Mel. I really like fountains and the challenge of saving some whites.

  2. Just gorgeous. I like your “hunting” for the right fountain. :-)
