Blue House

I had a little time to get out yesterday so I headed to Sayville to paint. I can always find some house that calls to me like this little blue one with the hydrangeas and flowers in front of it. This was done directly in watercolors and fits for the challenge...which is almost over.

  1. Gorgeous! Don’t know how you keep it all straight/organized without some under pencil drawing. Applause!

    1. Thanks, Jo. LOL It isn't easy, but like anything it gets a bit easier the more you practice. Unfortunately I always say I'm going to continue doing these after the challenge is over, but rarely do.

  2. Wow - this is great - where do you start and how do you preserve your whites when you don't have a drawing. Super piece JOan!

    1. Thanks, Val. It takes some thinking and planning and sometimes I use some light watercolor lines to lay out the composition!
