Sketching on the LIRR

On Saturday I took the LIRR into the city to meet the NYC Urban Sketchers. I got a good seat going in and was able to sketch a few people.

This lady was busy doing crossword puzzles all the way to the city. I wonder if she was doing the NY Times puzzle...after all her t-shirt said "genius."

These ladies were all friends traveling together. They had accents, but I'm not sure where they were from.

This guy was nice and still...a good model.

  1. I so admire your work ethic, Joan. I laughed at the woman's t-shirt.
They are pretty clever to do the Times Crossword. You captured all the poses so well.

  2. Another 3 days of wonderful sketches, Joan. I love them all but my favorite is that lighthouse!

  3. I have been catching up Joan. Your sunflowers way below are amazing!! Your travel sketches are wonderful, it is so difficult to especially get multiple people. Great work!

  4. These are super people watching sketches! I like the sunflowers, too.

  5. Joan-super portraits. Like the color you added to the crossword puzzle lady. As always you did well with your travel time. Have a lovely week. Hugs!

  6. You make me laugh Joan!! You find something to sketch wherever you go! Wonderful practice!! Nice work with these people on the train!
