Hawkins House

On Sunday I drove over to the Hawkins House in Yaphank. The house was built in 1850 by Robert Hewlett Hawkins, a 7th generation descendant of Robert and Mary Hawkins who came to Boston from   England in 1635. Robert Hawkins was a successful businessman and built this house for his family.
Today the house is part of the Yahpank Historical Society. Some day I'm going to see if they do tours and see what the inside is like.
The roof lines in this were a definite challenge.

  1. Oh that building looks interesting. Reminds me of the orient. Don't know why though. Good job done on a tricky subject.

  2. Beautifully painted, Joan..the roof lines definitely look challenging...but you did a wonderful job....if they ever have tours...let me know..sounds interesting.

  3. I think you did a magnificent job with the roof lines, Joan. I would love to see the inside of this house too.

  4. Dear Joan - you were up to the challenge of those roof lines - looks like a great place to visit - I would want a tour as well. Have a great day.
