This is a quick, small painting done on a half page in my Stillman and Birn journal. It was painted near Old Dock in Deer Park.

Greenhouse
After painting at the camellia house I went over to the regular greenhouse at the Planting Fields Arboretum. There were lots of orchids and tropical plants. I did this of some of the plants, many of which were near the roof. This is 4 x 6.

Camellia House
My travels yesterday took me to the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay. I wanted to go visit the camellia house which is in bloom at this time of year. I took a few photos and then painted this view of one of the exits from the building. That way I got a bit of architecture and the flowers too. This was done in my Stillman & Birn 7 x 7 journal.

East Broadway View
Yesterday I headed back to Port Jefferson hoping that it would be easier to park somewhere with a view...not so easy. lol I did finally get a parking spot looking down towards East Broadway. The harbor is just beyond these buildings. I was able to get a few figures who were walking by in the nice weather. This was done in my Stillman & Birn journal and is about 4 x 7.

Carl
I went to the SBAA portrait group on Tuesday and painted Carl. He had a great face, but I was worried about doing a stubbly beard and not making it look like dirt on his face. I'm happy with the way this came out. This is about 5 x 7.

Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Company
My sketch group scheduled a sketching session at Roast Coffee & Tea Trading Company on Main Street in Patchogue last night. We've sketched there before. This time I did a sketch looking out the windows toward the street. This is about 4 x 7 done in my Stillman & Birn journal.
We had unseasonably warm temperatures yesterday so in the afternoon I headed over to the Suffolk County Farm to sketch a few of the animals en plein air. Unfortunately each time I started to sketch someone came along to move the animals somewhere else. I did get a few sketches done.

Uphill in Port Jeff
I painted this the other day in Port Jefferson. I love that on the north shore of Long Island when you are near the water there are often hills. I like looking up at this corner and seeing the other houses. This painting is 5 x 7. For some reason I can't get a good picture of this. It keeps showing much more yellow than it it.
