Valentine's Day shopping caused a line outside the Sayville Chocolatier. I had been in Sayville the day before and there was a line outside. I couldn't stop then, but went back the following day. I sat across the street in my mobile studio to capture the store and some of the customers waiting outside.
From my experience I've learned that the best way to sketch a street in a town is to do it from my mobile studio. I sit in the driver's seat which sort of gives me a view like I was out in the street sketching. In this scene I was able to see both sides of the street and the vehicle coming and going. This sketch was done in Sayville.
