The Presbyterian Church of the Moriches

I've passed the Presbyterian Church of the Moriches many times and always decided before that it was too big to sketch. But this time I decided I would see how much of it I could get onto my page. I started at the top of the steeple and kept going until I ran out of room. The church has a lovely bottom too, but there was no way it would all fit on the page. Maybe some day I'll go back with a long sketchbook where I can work across a double page.

Islip Church

I saw the steeple of this church when I was passing through Islip so I drove around until I found a good view and that all-important parking space. Right now I can't remember the name of it but I looked as I was passing to go home. Then I checked the internet but no building like this popped up when I searched for the name. I'll have to do some investigating the next time I'm in that area.

Scavenger Hunt Sketches

Today I went out with my list of items from the Wet Canvas Scavenger Hunt. There were a few outdoor items I knew I could probably find. This hunt is being hosted by my friend Jo Castillo. The items I searched for were a steeple, a machine (which I found at a pizza place), and a fire hydrant.
