Oysters & Clams & More

Last week I bought some oysters and clams on the half-shell from The Fish Store in Bayport as an appetizer for dinner. I did a Procreate sketch of them, and I was pleasantly surprised with how they came out.

One of the items for the CreativeSpark Scavenger Hunt was something related to childhood. I though about a slide immediately.

Back To the Oyster Farm - Part 2

I decided I needed to capture a bit of the action going on at Thatcher Oyster Farm near Captree. Here are Chuck and one of his workers out in the bay bringing the oyster bags up from the bottom. I wouldn't want to have to lift them up.

On the dock itself the oysters are tumbled and sorted before the larger ones are ready to be iced and delivered to their customers.

Smith Point View

I hadn't been down to the beach for quite a while, and was feeling an urge to get down there. I drove over to Smith Point which is part of Fire Island. I didn't go over to the ocean side but painted on the bay side instead. This is 5 x 7.
