Near Home

 Before the craziness of the 4th of July took hold I sketched the street scene in Sayville. This was done as a direct watercolor with no pencil lines.

We had a number of really hot days going into this weekend, so I made sure I had a lot of time to relax in the pool at our complex or time to sit in the shade. This was done on my iPad with Procreate.

Downtown Sayville

There is something about small town downtown areas that always catches my attention. Today we are visiting downtown Sayville where they just put in a new crosswalk, conveniently in front of the new restaurant, The Wayward.

I needed to escape outside for a while today, but it wasn't a nice day. It was overcast and very windy. I headed into Sayville figuring that it would be a good time to be able to park in town without a lot of traffic blocking my view. I used a pen I bought recently when AC Moore was going out of business. It says Premier on it and it is a brown color. I don't know if it bleeds on other paper but on the paper I was using it wasn't waterproof. I didn't mind the effect when I added the watercolors but I needed to go back in with permanent ink.
