After Show and Tell with the NYC Urban Sketchers Suzala and I decided to stay for one more sketch. We headed don on the pier and sat in the shade facing The Ambrose, a historic lighthouse ship from 1908. She was a floating lighthouse used to guide ships safely from the Atlantic Ocean into Lower New York Bay.
Joan I was not aware that there was a ship that held a lighthouse. What a cool piece of history. Such a great job with the ship as well as its cargo! Hope you have a lovely trip to Venice - I am sure you will be capturing lots of wonderful sketches there. We got a few showers this morning...hope you get some too. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. It was interesting to read about the Ambrose. Apparently there were a group of ships that did that here. Hope the showers help. Have a good week.
DeleteI thought I had commented on these, so sorry if it is a repeat. Maybe on the Hunts. I love this red ship/boat.
ReplyDeleteGracias!!
