The Patchogue Sketch Club recently met at the Ronkonkoma Long Island Railroad Station. If I am going into NYC I often take the train from this station, but I don't have time to sketch there. It was nice to have the time to capture the architecture of the station.
Great perspective with lots of interest in the design.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jo. It was a fun place to sketch on a really comfortable night.
DeleteJoan this is a charming spot. You use this train station to go to NYC. How fun. I think trains are wonderful. We don't travel this way unless we visit a special railroad that is a tourist spot. Hope you are staying cool. We too are under a heat warning. I am assuming Ronkonkoma is an Indian name? Well take care friend and stay cool. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, the Long Island Railroad is a good way to get to the city, but it takes at least 1 hr 25 min each way. Yes, Ronkonkoma is an Indian name. We have a lot of towns that have Indian names. Today it was 98...a bit warm. lol
DeleteNice capture of a very interesting station! I like the subtle arch detail.
ReplyDeleteThanks. A lot of the train station out this way tend to look alike. This one is a bit different.
