The other day I had plans with a friend to meet for lunch in Rye. I always leave a little early because I don't really know what the traffic will be like, and it is about an hour away. I was nearly there when Louise sent me a text saying she was running about a half-hour late. I told her not to worry and that I would find a place to sit and sketch. By the time I found a place to park with a view I only had about 12 minutes before I needed to head over to the restaurant. I sketched this house on a small pad (4 x 6) of Strathmore linen-finished paper that is supposed to be for oil painting. I've sketched on it in pen before, but the watercolor wasn't working too well. I did the sketch and left the rest to finish at home.
Louise and I did have a very nice lunch, and it is always good to catch up with her even though she is a distance away. (We usually meet half-way between us.)
