After hanging out at the hospital for as long as I have, I just had to do a sketch on a fluid resist face mask. It seemed appropriate since I've been sitting in or around the ICU for the last few days. Jerry is still in the hospital and fighting lots of problems among which was the flu so we were required to wear these in his room.
This is poignant and also perfect, Joan, for what you've been going through. Thinking of you both -- take care. (Maybe you can find more hospital ephemera to sketch on...?)
ReplyDeleteLol I saved one of the menus from his meal tray. Maybe I'll use that next. Thanks!
DeleteThis is a super meaningful sketch. Hope that relieves the stress. Many, many hugs.
ReplyDeleteJo, thank you so much. Sketching does help for a few minutes. So do the hugs.
DeleteFascinating piece Joan although I am sure it was bitter sweet to use the mask. Best wishes to both of you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Val. I had gone out to use the rest room and nobody else was in the waiting room so it was the perfect time.
DeleteAmazing! The sketch itself and the idea of doing it on a face mask. Is it cotton, it may take watercolors well too. :)
ReplyDeleteYou speak about the flu using the past tense. I hope it is one less problem already and a start of a steady recovery. Hugs.
