Picking Out a Tree

It seems that every year I sit in my car in the parking lot of the Bayport Flower House and do a Christmas sketch. This year was no exception. I'm glad some people came along to pick out a tree.

  1. I enjoy your tree lot sketches every year! It's fun to have a series of sketches of the same place over and over.

    1. Thanks, Tina. I didn't get to do a Santa at all this year.

  2. I remember going picking out trees when I was growing up. It was always an event even though we lived in a city and just went to service-stations AND we had to walk - lol. A lovely sketch with a lovely memory - thanks Joan.

    1. Val, thanks. I remember all of us kids "helping" my father carry a tree back from the lot to our house. I think that was the reason we switched to artificial trees. lol

  3. Glad they showed up on schedule. Meant to ask you, do you keep all your sketch books labelled so you can see how you have grown?

    1. Nelvia, thanks. I do label the sketchbooks on the outside, but many of them are spiral and all different sizes so it isn't easy to keep them organized.

  4. A WONDERFUL painting, Joan. I adore her boots - a silly thing but I loved them right off! Thanks for all the pleasure your work has brought me this year.

  5. Your Christmas sketches would make a wonderful book. I'd buy one to put out with my Christmas stuff every year!
