Last Tuesday we had rain so my plein air group didn't go out, so I went to the portrait group in Bellport. Elfe posed for us. I did a 8 x 10 portrait of her first...
and then a quickie sketch of her. The paper I used for this one takes a long time to dry and I didn't have a long time. lol So the features aren't as clear as they should be. This is about 3 1/2 x 5.
I love both approaches. I can see the similarities in her features and think you did a nice job! This is a great exercise and nice to do when you are stuck indoors. I wish I could find someone who would pose for me!
ReplyDeleteI really like the second so much, Joan. The shading is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCelia, thanks. Luckily I have a few groups that do portraits.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherry. I need to go with the blending instead of fighting it. lol
Both different but love the second one in particular
ReplyDeleteThanks, Polly. For some reason when I do a portrait and then a quick sketch of the person I tend to like the quick sketch better.
