The other day after a good, hearty oatmeal breakfast
I went with my husband to the local library. While he was looking for what he needed, I did some sketches of the people there. For some reason I only sketched men...hummm...
like the guy reading the newspaper,
and someone on his computer,
the guy sitting at the table across from me,
another man reading,
a guy working on his tablet,
another guy working on his computer,
and a third guy working on his computer.
Hi Joan, great pen and ink sketches! I love eating oatmeal at breakfast too! Have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteYou've captured great character in these faces! I really like the one of the guy working on his tablet.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan, great sketches, was thinking the same thing about doing life sketches at the library. You inspired me about sketching in Barns and Nobel. Great fun. Hope we can paint together soon.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful. I did a similar thing a few years ago while in a doctor's waiting room. It's loads of fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketches Joan! Love them all! "It's raining men!" Joan, do you ask permission before you sketch someone! I started sketching people on commuter train and at times I am not sure if I should ask first? Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
Michael
Thanks, Celia, it is a great way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteSherry, thank you. I did these directly in pen.
Joan, it is a great place to sketch people when they are too busy to notice.e Thanks.
Carol, coffee shops are good too. Thank you!
Michael, no I don't ask. If someone notices I show them the sketch and tell them I'm practicing. I've never had anyone complain. Thanks.
