Quite often I pass this spot with a tiny island in the middle of a pond. I've driven around trying to find a way to get to it. The other day I was inspired to try a new way. I went near the pond and followed a very narrow path (probably filled with deer ticks) that meandered near the pond. I found a tiny spot to sit and had this view in front of me. This is 4 x 6.
It was worth the trip, Joan....Beautiful colors in this sketch (get those long pants on so you don't get ticks!..lol)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work Joan! The colours are so pretty! Ooh deer ticks don't sound good - we get kangaroo ticks over here - equally not good!
ReplyDeleteSo worth the trek! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. Yes, long pants and boots. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely sketch Joan. You are so talented in being able to see a composition straight away en plein air. Not something I find easy to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hilda. Luckily it was cool and I was wearing long pants...but I forgot my spray.
ReplyDeleteWendy...kangaroo ticks??? Thanks for the comment but not the idea. lol
Tina, thanks!
Jo, thank you. It is terrible to have to dress just for ticks.
Laura, thanks! It gets easier the more plein air you do.
Joan - such an interesting tree and love that soft pinkish red. Must be so beautiful to sit there and just enjoy. So glad you shared this wonderful sketch. Have a great week-end.
ReplyDeleteAlways out here Joan and always so very much enjoying your beautiful art! I know when I visit your blog I am in for a treat! Thanks buddy!
