  1. Joan - I am catching up on all your lovely posts. Been a bit busy so am enjoying looking at all you've been doing. Love your Long Island painting. Is that lavender growing in the field? Also your pen and ink from your previous post is so nice. I love to see pen and ink with watercolor washes. Thanks as always for sharing. Take care and God Bless!

  2. Hi Joan. You have been busy. Gorgeous works all three. Brave you for trying that lovely lion statue and the gate is just so inviting. Though this Field of Flowers is special and I can imagine myself wondering around smelling those flowers for hours. Lovely work especially how you captured the light.

  6. Hi Joan, what a very pretty scene. Looks like I could walk down that field between those gorgeous flowers.

  7. What a lovely field of flowers, indeed! The colors are luminous. Summer is definitely suiting your sketches and paintings well! This is my first summer as a sketcher, so I am reveling in outdoor sketching (which will end all too soon, I'm sure).

  8. This really is a stunning watercolor, Joan. I'm going to have to study it more because I think I can learn from you on how to do lots of leaves at a time.

  9. Hi Joan!!! Wonderful painting of the boats -- but this one has my heart!!! Stunning indeed! Light color, form, such invitingness -- it's gloriously done!!!!! LOVE IT!

The travel back home was a nightmare -- 2 cancelled flights, an overnight stay, mob scene at JFK with dozens of flights cancelled due to 'mechanical issues' ..... finally got home 32 hours later than expected after a 3 hour delay on the trip to NY -- Remind me not to fly Delta again!!
