Sketches from Maine

Here are two more sketches I did directly in ink on my am walks in Maine.

This is Glidden Street which has lovely houses and is along the Damariscotta River. It is actually in Newcastle because you cross the bridge to get there. I sat on a rock wall in front of someone's house to sketch this.

Kayaks have been among my favorite subjects this summer. There is just something about the colors that make them stand out. This display of kayaks was just by the bridge by the Damariscotta River.

  1. Beautiful sketches. I like the big tree in front of the house. And kayaks are always fun because they are so colorful.

  2. Joan - your sketch of the house and street is lovely...the Kayaks are super too. Love what you do with your pen and ink sketches. They are great! Have a good week.

  3. I think both sketches are just wonderful...The first is so beautiful! The second is so playful and it makes me want to try kayaking. You are having an awesome summer of painting, for sure!

  4. I love them both...I love the colorful Kayaks!!!..nice shadow work.

  5. Carol - Thanks! I love colorful kayaks.

    Debby - Thanks so much!

Sherry - Thanks. I did get to try kayaking!

    Hilda - Thanks!!
