Awaiting Florence

Over the weekend while Hurricane Florence was devastating parts of North and South Carolina, it affected our surf up here on Long Island. I thought the waves would be bigger but the undertow was really strong even if you were standing at the very edge. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the storm's path. This was sketched at Smith Point Beach.

  1. The inlet by me was very choppy....l can only imagine what these poor people are going through....and it won't be over for a long time. This is painted beautifully Joan. The water is amazing....and perfect figure work.

  2. Beautiful waves, Joan... and hard to imagine how terrible it must have been in the hurricane zone.

  3. Super waves Joan. It is hard to imagine for me living so far inland but your painting gives me a clue of the strength - thanks for sharing.
