I joined in with Chloe's group on Drawing Is Free_org again this week. Here are some of the portraits I did. The models seem to like posing with their hands near their faces. Most were done with a mix of watercolor, watercolor pencils, and Neocolors. All were sketched in the space of one song.
I made sure to be home for the 1:00 session of DrawingIsFree_org. I know they will probably change the time in Paris soon and the time will be adjusted here and back to noon. I'll have to check it out next week. I'm still trying to find a method of sketching that allows me to do a colorful sketch and finish before the song ends. This week I started the sketch with graphite or watercolor pencils and mostly used watercolor pencils for the rest of the sketch. For the white/gray beard I used my Sketch and Wash pencil. Here are a few of the sketches that I was happy with this week.
I joined the drawingisfree_org group for another week. Here are a few of my portraits from the session. Again all poses last the length of one song and then another person poses.
I took part in the portrait sketching with drawingisfree_org again, using Neocolors and some ink to do the quick poses. It is fun to do, but I wish it took place a little earlier. It starts at 12 noon on Mondays here in NY, and lasts for an hour. I'm usually out the door by then, so Mondays have become a slow start day.
Friends had told me about an online portrait group organized by Chloe Briggs called drawingisfree_org. The group meets on Zoom on Mondays at noon EST for an hour of portrait sketching. Chloe selects sketchers from the group to pose, and each pose lasts only as long as the song that is playing (3-5 minutes). Obviously you need to draw quite quickly. This was the first time I was able to join the group. I used Neocolor crayons and water for the portraits. It was a lot of fun, and I'm hoping to join in again.
