My friend and I went to the West Village last Saturday. Village Cigars is an iconic building which has been on Christoper Street for nearly 100 years, but has recently closed. The building is part of Greenwich Village Historic Dicstrict and has some protections. The interior of the building is being converted into a coffee shop, and I hope they are planning on keeping the outside as is.
Joan this is such a wonderful and quaint shop. I do hope they will allow it to remain the same on the outside. It is very hot here - how about there? Doesn't look like it is keeping you from your regular sketching. Have a great week friend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie. I think having protected status will help keep the exterior from changing much. It is hot here too, and I am doing a plein air event this week and next, so I am spending longer days painting outdoors. Hope you have a great week!
