The Planting Fields Arboretum has an arbor of beautiful roses. I don't often get there when they are in full bloom, but I lucked out the other day when I was there. This reminded me so much of Monet's Garden. This is 8 x 10. While I was painting it a young man stood next to me and watched me for at least 10 minutes. My friend wanted to know if I had charged him for the lesson. lol
Monet's garden, indeed! Lovely, Joan!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Joan! The roses are amazing as well as the shadows!
ReplyDeleteNice work!
I think I would have stopped to chat, that normally scares them away. lol. Love the painting so abundant of colour and flowers. Great idea to add the blue in the shadows.
ReplyDeleteThis is just glorious, Joan!! Maybe he was impressed seeing someone with talent working. I know I could watch forever myself if time permitted and the artist didn't mind.
ReplyDeleteJoan - this is so pretty. Looks like your friendly watcher didn't keep you from creating something lovely. Bet it smelled wonderful there too with those roses. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteLaura, I didn't stop so maybe that was why he stayed.
Debbie, the roses didn't have a fragrance at all.
Wow, this is gorgeous! And I love that purple shadow along the path.
