On Sunday I was out roaming around the North Fork of Long Island and came across Helen's Greenhouse and Farm which was open to the public. It had a wonderful-looking greenhouse, but I was attracted to the sea of yellow flowers (weeds really) in the field. It reminded me a bit of Tuscany. This is 5 x 7.
Oh Wow, Joan! This is such a wonderful painting. You have captured the freshness of summer and of course the distance!
ReplyDeleteJoan you are incredible. Every time I come here.. I get such a thrill! LOL
ReplyDeleteTo answer you question about the black and brown waterbrushes (updated in the FAQ on the post)
I fill the waterbrushes almost 3/4 full with water then add drops of acrylic ink. The black has 12 drops of ink and the brown has 5 drops brown and 2 drops of black. (FW inks have a dropper in the cap)
I use the black to draw with. It's waterproof when dry (on everything I’ve tried it with) so I can paint right over the finished drawing.
The brown is a favorite.. and I use it to make shadows... I can draw with it too, but it's very thin so the lines are pale when dry.
Hugs to you..
