Setauket Tree

Up at Frank Melville Park in Setauket are two big trees with such interesting trunks...all carved with initials and hearts and scratches. This on has a big hole in it that I think gives it such character. I love the nearly white limbs and trunk.

  1. Lovely tree with character, indeed. I wonder how the hole got there.

  2. Gorgeously painted trunk and leaves, Joan! It makes me sad to see the hole in the tree...rather like a gaping wound.

  3. Thanks Tina and Sherry. It look sort of like the limb cracked off or was cut off at some time.

  4. Dear Joan- what a wonderful portrait of a tree. The white/ gray bark really captures the beauty of this Tree.
