Bekieve it or not I on,y had time for a 10 minute sketch today. We went to the Caversham Wildlife Park today. I was with the family and we were walking around all day. We started with a visit to the koalas which was the highlight of the day. They are so cute and soft. Someone from the oark holds them and you are allowed to touch them with the back of your sanitized hand. Here are a few photos from the day.

Cloudy Fremantle Part 2

This is Oart 2 of today’s post. After lunch I foundation nice wine bar to sketch. The owner came over to look...sadly He didn’t offer to buy it, but he did like it.

Cloudy Fremantle Part 1

We had a rainy start to the day. Some of the family was somewhat tired from attending the bachelorette and bachelor parties yesterday and not up to doing much. I headed over to the indoor market in case it rained again but it looked good enough to stay outdoors for a while. I sat by a coffee shop and there were all kinds of things going on by the entrance including a man selling and demonstrating bird whistles he had for sale. I heard the kookaburra over and over. Then I went inside and sketched by the food stalls. I bought lunch for my husband and myself and headed back to our apartment.

Busy Day in Freemantle

I began the day with a walk over to the Frrmantle Marhet, an indoor market for the weekend that sells an assortment of great merchandise, food, and produce. From there I walked down to Bathers Beach were I did a sketch. Then I stopped for some healthy seafood to bring back to the apartment for our lunch. We had cooked jumbo prawns and marinated octopus...yum...and a side salad too.

After lunch I sketched another of the sandstone cottages.

Howard Street, Freemantle

Today we flew from Sydney to Perth. We are staying in a small town just outside the city called Freemantle. It is a cute town near the water,
. By the time we got to our apartment, got something for lunch, and some basic supplies, there wasn’t time to do more than one sketch. This is a house on Howard Street near our apartment. Tonight we are meeting up with the bride an groom and the rest of the family that is here for the wedding.

Today - Part 2 the Colonial Secretary’s Building

Right outside the Botanic Garden I spotted this building which is the Colonial Secretary’s Building. I thought it would be interesting to sketch. I did the watercolor first and added the ink in sections that were still damp. I like the effect.
