The Creative Spark Scavenger Hunt had sea shells as an item to sketch. I did my setup as a continuous line and then added watercolors to the sketch.

Continuous Line Nature Sketch
I've been enjoying doing continuous line sketches. This was done for the scavenger hunt on creativespark.art . Long, short, large, small, hard, soft, rough and smooth were included.
Then I added a watercolor wash to give it some color.

Shells
On Wednesday the Patchogue Sketch Club's theme for the night was tiny objects. I have a lot of shells around and most of these are not even an inch long. I sketched the shapes of the shells before adding watercolor.

Jen's Specimens
On Wednesday night one of the members of the Patchogue Sketch Club hosted the even because Mark was away. The weather forecast was for wet weather so Jen got some of her specimens out and ready for us to sketch.
We started with a few shells including that of a horseshoe crab.
Then we moved on to a replica of a human skull.
My final sketch was the shell of a turtle. I just loved the patterns in the scoots of the carapace if the shell which were very interesting.

Sea Shells
In my guest bathroom I have a glass jar with a collection of shells from assorted places. Some of them are complete shells and some of them are imperfect and may have cracks or holes. I find those interesting too. I sketched just a few on an ATC sized card.
