Beer and Cocktails

Down by the Fire Island Ferry at the Sandspit Marina in Patchogue is a cute building that apparently sells beer and cocktails as you wait for your ferry. As the sign says, "There's Always the Next Ferry."

  1. Joan what a neat place...the sign made me smile. Wonderful sketch too. Loved reading about how you lived with your grandparents. That must have been such special memories. Why is it grandma's always had lots of flowers. It must be a requisite to be a grandma :)! Have a lovely Labor Day weekend. Hugs!

  2. Joan, I really like this. When we were near Nelson, BC, years ago we had to catch a ferry to get to golf across the river. There was an hour time change and we had a difficult time knowing when to book our tee times and coordinate with the time change and ferry schedule. Ha. Good memories. Oh and this grandma has only one or two geraniums in the summer. Ha.

    1. Jo, thanks. Ferry schedules are a pain so I can't imagine figuring out times with the time change too. lol My grandmother had the prettiest hydrangeas, but always called them snowballs. She always had pansies lining the path too.

    2. Awwww. Love the snowballs. My mom had iris and called them flags. I think they mainly grew wild as we never took much care of plants except a garden of edible kind.
