In addition to pretty, scenic landscapes it is sometimes fun to sketch a bit of the gritty side of life. It too has its own beauty. Down near one of the marinas in Patchogue I found a small road that has an assortment of businesses that collect or salvage pieces of anything related to boats or boat sheds or heaven knows what else. In the middle of one of the fenced areas is this wonderful rusty water tank with all sorts of "stuff" around it.
Nicely done! I love rusty stuff... like Gas Works Park where I sketch frequently!
ReplyDeleteI like places like that but there really aren't any here locally. I'd have to go to Brooklyn.
DeleteGreat, history in a sketch. Love it.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Jo. Things like this are fun to sketch.
DeleteGreat job Joan. We often forget that there can be beauty in the leftovers of life - thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Val. There is beauty in unlikely subjects too.
