On Wednesday evening the Patchogue Sketch Club met at Islip Grange Park in Sayville to sketch. It is a fairly large park with a group of historic buildings from around the Civil War era including a church a barn, and a windmill. This is a two room building that I think was used as an office. This particular building seems to be in the worst shape of all of them and the town of Islip has been promising for years to make renovations. So are there has been a tarp on the roof for the last several years.
Heavy rain was forecast for later the evening and by around 7:00 it looked like rain was headed our way so we all headed to the safety of our cars. By about 8 it was pouring.
This is such a charming building - I do hope they preserve it. Nice work on this sketch Joan
ReplyDeleteJoan love this sketch...old buildings are so interesting and you do them so well. Glad you were able to sketch in spite of the rain.
