Scenes from Venezia

Yesterday I went to paint this restaurant that I have passed a million times. While I was painting a man came out from the bar to look Later he came back with a woman When I finally finished it, I brought it inside to show him. He was behind the bar and when he saw the painting he said, "Bella! Prosecco for you!" and poured me a glass. Then he took me through the restaurant to meet his boss...and then he took it into the kitchen to show the chef. It was a funny situation. I hope to paint the part of the restaurant to the left when I get a chance.
This is one of the quite spots across the canal from Piazza San Marco where most of the tourists are.

  2. Hi Joan,

I posted a comment on Friday, didn't take. What I said is the I absolutely love these paintings. Joan, you just may end up selling most of your work. I wouldn't be surprised.

    All the best to you,
    Joan

  5. These are great, the bottom scene with the buildings with the red roofs looks like many of the towns I visited in Croatia. Perhaps that is because much of Croatia was under Venetian rule for hundreds of years.

    Great paintings.
