Arboretum Path

Right now the leaves on the trees here are at their peak, and I have been trying to paint them every day. This was done last week with my PALS Plein Åir group at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Great River. This is 8 x 10. There will be more of these colorful paintings to come.

  3. I so love your blog Joan! I am out here. Not much time to comment on all your wonderful paintings and sketches but please keep them coming! Love your subway sketches! I started some sketches while on the train also. Should I ask permission to sketch someone? I don't want to be intrusive?
Great watercolors and so much more Joan! The colors on this tree are right on! I also love the leaves on the ground and ground cover. Take care.

  7. Hilda, Laura, Michael, Wendy, Tina and Sherry, thanks so much for your comments. I went walking this morning and overnight we lost so many leaves from the trees. It's now or never. lol

Michael, I never ask permission to sketch people. 98% of the time they never know I'm sketching them. I try to pick someone who is a bit in their own world or busy doing something else. Even when they notice, most people don't mind once they see what you're doing.

  8. Gorgeous, Joan. Love the dancing light you captured and it would be fun to walk down the path with you and talk art.
